JESSE COLLINS WAS Born in NEW HAMPSHIRE and raised in Upstate NEW YORK where he attended the Ithaca college School of music. JESSE THEN moved to New York City where he attended The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music, AS WELL AS STUDIED PRIVATELY WITH SOME OF THE GREAT MUSICIANS FROM THE HISTORY OF JAZZ including Sam Rivers ,Lee Konitz, Jaki Byard and Arnie Lawrence. HE lived IN NYC for 20 years, WHERE HE WORKED as a sideman and led his own groups, WHICH INCLUDED a "who's who" of some of the great players IN JAZZ.

in 2005 jesse moved to syracuse, nY, to build a home base outside of nyc, from where he could produce his music for a world wide audience, as well as to continue to craft his playing and further develop his owm music. he played with his own group, the Jesse collins quartet, as well as many local upstate NY groups, including the desantis orchestra, the stan colleLla orchestra, the salt city jazz collective, as well as the syracuse symphOny.
IN 2015 JESSE CO-FORMED THE MUSICIAN-OWNED INDEPENDENT JAZZ Record LABEL REAL BEAN RECORDS. IN 2013 "ASK ME NOW" (REAL BEAN # 2112) WAS A SYRACUSE AREA MUSIC AWARD (SAMMY) NOMINEE FOR JAZZ RECORDING OF THE YEAR, AND IN 2014 "FREE TO BE FREE" (REAL BEAN #2113) WAS A SAMMY AWARD JAZZ RECORDING OF THE YEAR.
JESSE NOW LIVES and travels out of ITHACA, NY, where he works for the EMPLOYEE-owned and OPERATED music production organization Real bean Productions, which PRODUCes JESSE COLLINS MUsiC AND REAL BEAN RECORDS.
